The Long Ride: Film Screening & Director Talk

October 12, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

class=”featuredimage”>

Cosponsored by AFSCME Local 3299 and the UC Berkeley Multicultural Immigrant Student Program (MISP)

The Long Ride chronicles the historic 2003 Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride and follows the progress and setbacks as immigration rights activists seek justice for immigrant workers and push for passage of comprehensive immigration reform. With the Freedom Riders as our navigators, The Long Ride follows the action as events surrounding this controversial issue continue to unfold. The film puts a human face on the issue and examines the human costs as lawmakers consider overhaul of the U.S. immigration system.

This is the first film screening in our Film + Labor: UC Berkeley Labor Center Fall Documentary Film Series.

This event is free and open to the public. Please register in advance.
