From Braceros to H2-As: Discussing the History, Present, and Future of Agricultural Guestworker Programs

In partnership with UC Berkeley’s Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and the Center for Latino Policy Research, the National Steinbeck Center is proud to present “From Braceros to H-2A’s: Discussing the History, Present, and Future of Agricultural Guest Worker Programs in California” as part of our Ag Forum series. The program will take place on Friday, March 16 from 9 AM- 1 PM and is admission free.
The program aims to bring together leading scholars, journalists, and students on the Bracero Program with leaders in the agricultural industry, and elected officials. The group will discuss the legacies of the Bracero Program (1942-1964) and the current workings of the H-2A guest worker program. After the event, participants will produce a white paper on best practices and policies.
