Lettuce, 2001

Romaine lettuce harvest, Imperial Valley, CA.
This crew, all immigrants from El Salvador, live in Santa Rosa, CA. 550 miles north of the Imperial Valley. They are brought in by the contractor because of their speed: about 8 heads cut, trimmed and boxed per minute.
