Women Electronics Workers Demand Union Rights, June, 1974 (2 of 3)

Women electronics assemblers in Concord on strike against favoritism, for better conditions and better pay. In 1974 they were making $2.05 an hour and machines were giving off dangerous fumes. Asked how you get promoted, one worker stated, "You want the truth? It's who you sleep with." (UnionWAGE July-Aug 1974). Teamster women workers, themselves on strike for 4 months against the Martinez Bus Lines, supported sister strikers on the picket line.
